I mean... I DO have a Polish last name, so without the s being capitalized, I did automatically think the same as you.

It's just a much more friendly and respectful environment to discuss and learn in that is actually evidence-based with book recommendations instead of "nuh-uh" and "facts over feelings" with literally nothing, no "facts" in sight to back up the claims they're making to dispute your own.

I'm still very much broadening my horizons. I work as an adoption caseworker, and I'm mutuals with multiple adoptees (including yourself) that have various opinions about adoption that I'm learning from. Just because we don't want to hear from MAGA anymore doesn't mean we're in an echo chamber.

LISA BLOCKED ME, TOO! 😂 I feel so accomplished. I don't even remember interacting with a Lisa, so it might have been something else I posted or commented that she didn't like? They're doing the work for us! It's even EASIER than I thought it would be!

Are you also open to me joining the discussion when it happens? Or at least tagging me when it's concluded so I can see the points you've talked about? I'm trying to track down my own copy of the book right now.

Hey! I blocked that person a hot minute ago, and I no longer see their posts, but I do see your replies. I think they're a troll account trying and failing to "infiltrate." I don't have any proof, but I'm just out here blocking on a whim! It's very freeing, if you'd like to join me!

Awesome! I'll try to keep that in mind (then immediately curse and flail around when I keep posting before adding any hashtags)! 😂 Thanks!

Ah! Does adding hashtags help with visibility? If I go #DogsOfBluesky and #Pomeranian ?

Is that what I'm doing wrong? Brb... going to post a picture of my dog real quick! (To be fair, I was never on Twitter, so I'm really brand new to all of this!)

I mean, they won, and they're still pissed anyway, so... 🤷 Who celebrates their victory by having a masked Nazi march? They're dying for something to be pissed about.

So I can easily see how it can extend to withholding known information about birth family when information about the adoption itself can be withheld entirely against the advice of... well... everyone.

I can see this. We heavily advocate for children to know they are adopted early. Babies should grow up knowing this and not remembering the first time they were "broken the news" to, but for some adoptive parents, this seems counterintuitive despite the overwhelming evidence.

Project 2025, which they present as a 180-day plan for the next conservative president, mentions "the Great Awokening" multiple times, no definition in sight.

It's the lack of self-awareness for me.

(5/5) Not to invalidate your lived experience, but to offer context about changes and progress that I'm seeing in my state. Have you seen any notable changes with the system or the process since your own adoption?

(4/?) "How can we make this better?" and bringing up specific concerns about youth they're working with on a consistent basis. There are often changes to the way we do things to better the system. It's not perfect, but they are people who care who are aiming for as perfect as possible.

(3/?) And from the adoptive family standpoint, they have to go through trainings that explain the importance of birth family connections (if safe, and continuing to honor the past connection if continued contact is not safe). It's not a perfect, and it might vary by state, but I see people asking

(2/?) Child Profile is written for every child who enters out-of-home care, and once that child turns 18, whether they were reunified or adopted, etc., they can request their Child Profile. It has a ton of information about their history: birth, development, social, placement, educational, family...

(1/?) I'm an adoption caseworker, not a county CYS employee, so I don't know how relevant this is, but I get paid either way, whether I'm working with the team to find an adoptive resource for a child or to work on having a successful reunification. It probably varies by state as well, but in PA, a
