I can't see the Dems ever getting control of the Senate again, so it's pretty moot from that regard. And it is effectively already over when Republicans are in the majority, as Dems will always cave at some point during a filibuster. Useless twats.

Yeah except the Dems always sell us out in the end. Not that my vote matters in my state, but wow, I could sure see people not bothering to vote for Dems in places where it does matter. Knowing that Republicans are far worse is all that keeps the Dem party going, and they know it, sadly.

Sadly, it doesn't make a difference to the Republicans, right? They run everything even with the filibuster still in place. I am so sick of the Dem party, esp the gerontocracy.

Like, what is the other option, though? A third party will never win. I guess people who live in blue or purple states can try to primary the 'cucks' and perhaps take over the party from the inside. People like me who live in far-right states have no chance of making a difference either way though.

I hope they do get together. Not that Republicans in general or MAGAts in particular care about hypocrisy, but just puts a 1000th and 1 underline on Vance's hypocrisy, and throws some consequences on Usha.

He and the Republicans have the built-in advantages of wanting government to fail and not caring about people except for rich ones, esp people who don't vote for them. As a bonus, they can pass the things they care about using reconciliation, so they don't need the goodwill of the Dems.

It’s not. But I need *some* news site with broad coverage and at least *some* journalistic integrity, and the WaPo seems even worse than the NYT now so there I am. Sort of like my relationship w/the Dem party: I hate them but they do more of what I want than Republicans for sure.

Yep, have cancelled my subscription and gone over to the lesser-dark side, the NYT, after a lifetime of not subbing because I hate them. The editorial side of the WaPo has gone to shit this year. Then again, most of the NYT opinion writers are horrible, too, so...
