For some of the technical aspects, the cards are divided into like 4-5 layers including an art frame that goes over the illustrations. The text is added via text meshes in Unity, and the card layers and illustrations are dynamically loaded at runtime.

All new rules can be procedurally generated as well as existing on preset cards, as per usual.

In case anyone is curious, I went from 185 player health (vs. 14 starting monster health which scales up) to 30 player health, with 10 healing after each fight.
