For once I'm not tired from being woken up early by the cat, she slept right through the night...in the middle of my side of the bed, so I'm tired from being kept awake by the sleeping cat 😴

I can report that watching a livestream of a funeral at 3.30 in the morning is lovely, in that you can "be there", but is really tough to deal with watching your family crying, laughing, hugging & you can't interact. I'm so drained today

2.50 alarm is one hell of a harsh way to wake up. But managed to pull myself out of bed before any of the backup alarms went off 🏆

Hearing how much work my parents have been doing preparing for my Aunty's funeral, and now an Uncle on the other side of the family has also passed away...feeling really guilty for being so far away

Every time there are local council elections, I regret not running as a candidate. But then I remind myself of all the shit I'd have to deal with if I got elected.
(Also "every time" is twice, because I've only been eligible to vote twice, so it's also not that dramatic)

I'm clearly following more English people now, because I see far more Sunday roast pictures in my feed. This is good because how lovely, but also bad because I have no roast 😭

It's wild to me that former owners of my house thought it's better to dump things in the ground then cover it up with garden waste, rather than giving things away or taking them to the recycling centre.

Struggling to decide whether I suddenly travel to Australia or not, to be with family after my Aunty passed away yesterday. She was in her late eighties, so she had a good life.
But argh, it feels like measuring emotions against practicalities & it's not a fun exercise.

For some reason I still doubt that all my tech things will automatically change to winter time overnight, so I need to have a watch nearby to validate in the morning that the have in fact done what they do every year without fail.

Younger Drew would not believe me if I went back in time & told him he now eats more vegetarian/vegan food during the week than not. His diet was basically just meat & potatoes.

At a fancy restaurant for my (belated) birthday present, which serves "surprise dishes" between courses. We didn't get one of the surprise dishes & I'm quite annoyed at not getting something which wasn't on the menu.

Sitting here worrying my cat is out really late and hasn't come home. I go outside to look for her and there's 3 sets of eyes in the garden 😱 one of them being her. So basically I'm worrying all night and she's just out partying with the neighbourhood kids 😑
