I double checked & 'decade' is a 4th grade level vocabulary word so when I was trying to sound it out I mixed it up with smth more advanced which is cool retrospectively ig but at the time I was much more deeply devastated to get my paper back with any red ink on it telling me that I fucked up lmao

I'm pretty certain it was either 3rd or 4th grade that I did that. Out of curiosity I was looking up English Language Development or Early Developmental Language graded vocabulary lists & 'decay' is a 6th grade vocabulary word
