I do think the political shenanigans at the beginning of Golden Wildfire are Fodlan at its absolute peak, as you mentioned.
And I must admit I do like the political shenanigans in Azure Gleam as well, though in a very different way.

Azure Gleam is most certainly SOMETHING, yes… Playing part 2 always upsets me for how many opportunities it squanders. It feels as though they thought it necessary to give it a ‘worse’ ending than Azure Moon… Which already had a very bittersweet ending.

I will say that I personally enjoyed the writing of Three Hopes. The stories themselves left much to be desired but the way they are written makes it bearable to me. I greatly appreciate observing the change of circumstances for individual characters and inter-character relationship purposes.

This is curious. I’m hearing exclusively good things about Age of Imprisonment. (I genuinely think the writing is leagues better than TOTK)
As for others… I was personally a fan of Age of Calamity, despite how “fan-fiction-y” the plot felt at times.
