I don't think writing everyday is as hard as being loved, but I'd like to manage both in 2026.

A little fashion-forward religion.

Anyway, here's a picture of a cat holding my gaze.

Bluesky is definitely not the platform for this. But it's hard to convey how much of my anxieties over the past few years have revolved around where to live. Sometimes I look at a cozy space in a stairwell and think, "Well, that's not bad at all." Makes no sense.

Homeownership freaks me out. So much drywall and money involved. Why can't I be a ward to the Lord of the Castle.

Checked out the apt again. Noticed annoying popping sounds coming from the bedroom wall, likely d/t the wind and cold weather. The contract is already out but now I'm wondering if I should go with an apt on a lower floor that shares side walls with another building so there's less of that.

I didn't take a pic of my soursop ice cream (just okay, should have gone with the grape nuts), but it happened.

A really peppery version of saltfish and dumpling with ginger-pineapple juice.

Jim Broadbent lived too long. If he had died of grief soon after Iris Murdoch it would have been perfect.

Trying to work on Red Brood too, but just harder rn d/t lack of groundedness in setting and not being in a relationship. A man, just okay or possibly worse, please let me use you for material.

Later, when he lost his writ (which without legal guardian consent has no standing), I watched him hold a box of tissues like a teddy bear. It was important to let him know that at least he tried, that he did his best to challenge the expertise of a doctor, and that it was the effort that mattered.

Scariest moment on the kids unit for me was when I had misjudged a patient's anger, went to let him out of seclusion, and he ran and launched a flying kick at the door, which came a hair's breadth away from hitting my face.

Don't know when I'll get to work with kids again, but miss them. The violent smartasses, the maliciously compliant, the good quiet ones dealing with tough family situations, the demanding devils advocating for themselves who you tried to accommodate when you could and comfort when you could not.

All libraries should have charging stations that lock👍

Coworker in question is male, btw, for the farty quad minority scolders.

Nursing is great, but it can't be forever. One of my co-workers just got rocked recently, their second incident in three months. You have to know when to set boundaries and when to let it slide when a patient calls you puta.

There was another apt I was considering, in a quieter neighborhood, with no transfers needed to commute, but it's a coop with no subletting. Generally though I do think coops are better value than condos in nyc.

I spent 4 months searching in Queens, and < 1 month in Brooklyn. I wanted to make a decision before the market heats up in the spring, and it was time.

I'm excited to be buying my first home, despite all that's going on in the world. Some of the money is coming from savings, but most is from family. I recognize how lucky I am, and that despite being a fuckup for most of my life, how lovingly, if imperfectly, I have been supported.

Tired near the end of a 4th shift. But still less tired than working nights.

I was wondering what was up with the people hyping New York, but no, it's because I'm a dumbass.

Verklempt over Delizia 73's vegetarian slice is what I am. Never again will I have to choose between Domino's, the bodega, Mickey D's, or the prepared foods section in the 24-hour grocery store.

There's a scene in "Painted Skin 2" where Vickie Zhao smells a flower in the sun for the first time after she's traded bodies with a human. A tear rolls down her cheek. Manhattan streets only bear the smells of different varieties of piss, but sun against steepening concrete is still pretty sweet.

Make sure your wife/minder takes you to the doc to up your BPH medication so you're not constantly dribbling out piss.
