From what I’ve seen and heard of Beshear, I like him, too. Just about anyone that our side would nominate would be better than the current administration, although that’s admittedly a very low bar.

I really, really think that a Blue Wave is starting to build and that it’s going to turn into a Blue Tsunami for the 2026 midterms. I hope the party will keep running with that all the way into 2028.

And yes, sad that we even have to consider these things in 2025. But then back in 2008, I didn’t know if this country was ready for a black man as POTUS, and was pleasantly surprised as hell when Obama was elected. I voted for him, of course, but didn’t know if America would.

As much as I’d love Pete for POTUS in 2028, I think maybe it would be better if say, Newsom, ran and had Pete as his VEEP. Pete is young yet. He’ll be 44 on his upcoming birthday in January, so he has time yet.

Buttigieg is my #1, but I like Newsom a lot, Pritzker, Tim Walz. I know Kamala has made some noise about seeking the nomination again, but I hope she doesn’t. Yes, I say that as a woman who believes in equality, but 2016 and 2024 both showed this country isn’t ready for that, sadly.
