There’s a more to it than Doctor vs CEO pay. There’s also the pharmaceutical costs - chemo isn’t cheap. Add that to many hospitals being gobbled up by private companies in addition to paying employees - from the janitors to the surgeons- also have a bottom line.

I won’t completely disagree, but in many cases doctors earn the right to that salary. They spend years in school followed by years in a low paying residency and unless they have scholarships are buried in student debt like everyone else.

But, if Pritzker calls in the IL guard, Trump could turn around and federalize them and they would no longer be able to do anything. I think Pritzker is waiting to see what the court rules on Thursday before he makes any moves.

And yes, that sucks. But it’s a smart move at the moment.

I’m ELCA Lutheran and we are near polar opposite of the Missouri Synod Lutherans in our beliefs. But neither sect acknowledges the Pope as our leader.

You’re trying to pin the crime on the Illinois governor, who runs the state. Not the mayor of the city, so your argument is moot if you’re trying to say that the governors of the red states aren’t held to the same accountability.

The only time Chicago comes close to a “war zone” and “hellhole” is in January/February when it’s after a blizzard, -40°, and “dibs” has been enacted (unofficially).

Even then, there’s nothing to fear. Unless you violate the “dibs” treaty.

This does not take away the nature of the crime, but I’m a touch confused. The news story says he had been stalking one of the girls for months, which means that there were concerns before Kirk was murdered. The story also does not mention them shit talking Kirk as motive.

It’s because at this point there are no political consequences. What the Dems seem to be doing now is getting it all on record so IF they get control back in 2026 she will have hell to pay.
