#Blacksky, I’m pondering this: Who benefits from the destruction of democracy? And how?
Thoughts?

All I keep thinking about is how Pete Hegseth raised questions of the competency of a Black four-star general and Air Force fighter pilot who was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Hegseth asked did he get the job “because of his skin color? Or his skill? We’ll never know, but always doubt.”

Watching the current administration lie, blame and accuse around the significant security lapse in the attack on Yemen is further confirmation that we are being ruled by a confederacy of dunces who believe the average citizen is stupid enough to fall for anything.

Is anyone else wondering about the obsession with Mars? Hear me out. What if this is actually a long-planned Martian invasion of Earth, and the Martians or their descendants running Space X and now the US government are actually trying to get back home to repopulate their planet. Sci-fi meets life?

First they use the media to discredit good people. And you believe them. Next they erode trust in media. And you believe them. Then they take over media and use it to misinform, discredit and disenfranchise you. And you still believe everything will be fine. Wow.

I honestly believe we should all be in the streets protesting and demanding democracy. But it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed and a bit paralyzed by the pace of destruction and willingness of many to go along—even when it’s not in their best interest.

Most of the civil rights our forebears fought for here in the U.S. were ultimately won in the courts. Now, it is clear that no one is coming to save us. We must save ourselves. #blacksky #womensrights #workersrights #humanrights

Once upon a time, they said it was paranoia to think this president could be a Russian asset. Is it paranoia now to suspect they all might be?

Remember they told us we were overreacting when it was clear we were on the road to being ruled by a dictator? Each day brings new headlines that make it even clearer. This is how democracy falls. And how the poor and underrepresented become even more so. #BlackSky

Good morning #BlackSky. Next, they will say the degrees Black people earned don’t count because they are DEI. The effort to erase progress is fully underway.
Trump admin threatens to rescind federal funds over DEI
In a sweeping and unprecedented letter issued over the weekend, the Office for Civil Rights declared race-based scholarships, cultural centers and even graduation ceremonies illegal.

DEI is not just about Black people. We are witnessing the unraveling of democracy and freedom. Do people really not understand that they are coming for YOU next? #blacksky #democracy

Nothing says love quite like hot chocolate cooked on the stovetop the way my Grandma used to make it. A cup of warm love.

Happy Valentine’s Day, #BlackSky. What the world needs now for sure is love. Oh, and a plan and the will to fight for our freedom.

#BlackSky I’ve heard several Black women talk about moving to another country as our democracy unravels. And I’ve had the thought myself. But it makes me wonder: For colored girls considering fleeing the U.S., where would you go?

I’m cleaning off our bookshelves before family arrives for Thanksgiving. My husband’s collection of James Patterson novels is reminding me that I need to watch the new #Cross series on Prime. If you’ve seen it, what do you think?
