Distraction from the Epstein files, Krasnov, and the massive insider trading scam masquerading as the US government now.

I'm beginning to think this is a trademark of Russian bot accounts. They only attack the PM/President of parliamentary democracies - it's always "name" rather than "party they lead". Because they can't make sense of a system where the figurehead is part of government, rather than a dictator.

Cuffed in front and given a bottle of water. This is rather better treatment than their goon squads employ on people they grab off the street... Evidence of it all being a setup for the cameras, to distract from the orange one being in the Epstein files (and a Russian asset)?

I've been watching Patlabor recently, neat premise.

It already did. FIFA seem happiest when they're buttering up nasty little tinpot dictatorships.

Bring back starting handles. Think the 2CV was probably the last car you could buy new with one, or maybe the Lada Niva?

Yeah...might want to look up "Atlantic Conveyor".

One for the banners at the next round of "No Kings" protests. Expose the hypocrisy

This is a rolling road/dynamometer for measuring the power output of locomotives. Caused a headache when the first diesels arrived as it transpired the dyno had been significantly under-recording, leading to diesels being ordered with underpowered engines.

They won't be much better off at home in those cases!

They've been at it since 2014. You could make a great start by coming down hard on the constant disinformation which benefits their far right political pets.

Ah, a superb owl!

Apparently there's a noticeable spike in deaths around this time of year. Not necessarily because it's cold and flu season, more as if people are hanging on for one last Xmas, one more New Year's Day.

80s and 90s BTCC really was the best era.

He does know the Russians have previously made the same handful of aircraft circle multiple times, in order to look like an entire squadron of the new type?

They eventually realised that enforced adverts like this had two outcomes. Suddenly everyone knew about downloading films, and rapidly learned that if you downloaded it you didn't have to sit through half an hour of trailers and aggressive shouty threats from the MAFIAA before watching the film.

Signs of collapse? Coded message or hoping people will think it is?

This was one of those spooky radio stations which had the western world very intrigued before 1991, having it devolve to rather sad threats and playing random ballets is a bit of a let-down.

Yep, all Russia has to do is call their troops back to their own borders instead of trying to annexe the neighbours. Would probably take a week or two to sort the logistics out.

I think it's a deep rooted shame at their inability to excel in all skills, combined with the fact that creative people tend to lean left (or just "anti-authoritarian, regardless whether it's left or right"). Plus the old quote about works of imagination being seen as a threat by those who lack any.
December 29, 2025 at 11:32 PM
I think it's the latter. Techbros are embarrassed that they can't create art (and won't put the hours in to learn), so they're trying to automate it. See also: self driving cars, because they're crap at driving.

Somewhere in Switzerland, judging by that wonderfully mixed bag of coaches!
December 28, 2025 at 8:08 PM
Agent Krasnov is rather careless about contacting Moscow Centre. The entire world isn't supposed to know about it!

Total Operations Processing System - a way of keeping tabs on locomotives and rolling stock.

They used a neat trick to get train ferries into the system. All were given a TOPS number, wagons loaded on the ferry were then entered as a train with the ship as the loco.
