We're into hard science fiction, fantasy, and horror.
It’s a tightrope. Readers pay for genres they like, so we can’t reinvent the wheel so much that they don’t recognize what they bought. Tropes are experiences people (largely) loved universally. But copying tropes grows stagnant. I often advise to run with invention but handpick some hallmarks too.

Our stories are human with copyrights running 1992-2024. I don't permit AI “authors” on belief there will always be a market for human stories. I have 20+ years in digital art. We also license freelance artists via Shutterstock. We use Paintshop Pro as Adobe is $$$$. A full-time art hire is in plan.
