First Bluesky post!

Howdy everyone, my name is Cameron, I’m an NWS meteorologist, photographer (mostly landscape), and storm chaser. The attached images sum me up a bit😂

I hope to be a little more active here vs other sites. Intrigued to test out the waters here!

We got additional images from the Saguache County EM of the tree damage from the damage scar. Given that, we got to upgraded the Sawtooth Mountain tornado from an EFU to a low end EF1. #cowx
Graphic showing the updated data of the Sawtooth Mountain tornado. It has been upgraded to an EF1 with 88 mph peak winds.

Sunset at Lake Pueblo State Park about a week ago. Sun peaked out between the clouds in such a way that it lit up the rocky shore in a warm glow. #photography #landscapephotography #sunset
Sunset at Lake Pueblo State Park. Sun is low, but still above the horizon shinning across the lake and rocky shoreline. Blue skies are dappled with mid to high level clouds.

After a bit of data analyzation, confirmed a mountain tornado that occurred earlier this month across Sawtooth Mountain. This tornado was at about 11,300ft and is only the third confirmed tornado in Saguache County since 1995! #cowx
Graphic showing details about a mountain tornado that occurred on 09/13/25 along the northern slopes of sawtooth mountain. Sentinel satellite data showing the “tornado scar” left behind from damaged trees from the sawtooth mountain tornado.

Relaxing evening at Lake Pueblo State Park and just enjoying sunset along the rocky shoreline. Funnily enough my favorite image from this evening came before the sun even set below the horizon! Even saw some creepy crawly wildlife before heading out😅 #sunset #photography
Sitting on the rocky shoreline of Lake Pueblo State Park, with early sunset as the golden sun reflects on the lake. Main DSLR camera in the foreground and pointed down the rocky shoreline of Lake Pueblo State Park during the early phases of sunset, with the golden sun in the background reflecting on the lake and dark shadowed mountains in the far background. Wide shot of the rocky shoreline of Lake Pueblo State Park after the sun set below the horizon, with oranges and pinks lighting up the sky and clouds, with thin sliver of the moon hanging in the sky on the left side of image. A brown tarantula crawling along the rocks of Lake Pueblo shoreline.

Sunrise at Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park. While this morning didn’t go as planned, sitting along the water and enjoying the changing morning sky was nice too! #photography #mountains
Bright vibrant oranges and yellow clouds at sunrise sit over the mountains along the eastern side of Lake McDonald.

Sunrise at lake McDonald in Glacier National Park this morning. Some modest lenticular clouds were in place, which added some additional interest to the scene. #sunrise #landscape #photogrpahy

As in the whole ~25 mile Barr Trail?! That’s crazy for a first 14er! That’s awesome dude! 🥾🏔️

Now to be fair, I prefer to chase with partners, just feels safer that way and more fun to share the experience, but that’s a hard thing to make happen for me (friends from work are usually on shift when I’m off, and too much of an introvert to ask other CO chasers if I can tag along lol😅)
camcoeadvntrs.bsky.social
Chasers, need some help/advice… how do you handle anxiety of going out chasing solo? This used to not be a problem for me, but over the last 2ish years it’s become crippling and I can’t ever get out without a partner now. Like I want to go out to SE Colorado tomorrow, but my brain just shreds that.

Fun evening with radar ops and tracking this storm across the entirety of northern El Paso County. Some shear and moist upslope flow getting it done. #cowx
camcoeadvntrs.bsky.social
High based convection with high DCAPE values of ~1200-1400 J/kg means this forecaster gets to have fun with radar operations! #cowx
camcoeadvntrs.bsky.social
Well just issued my first convective driven SPS for the season… for some marginally convective, yet gusty showers. But strong winds aloft and DCAPE of ~1000 J/kg gets it done. It’s certainly Spring in Colorado😂

I’m normally fairly quiet about things…

But I just want to cry, scream into the void, punch something… my heart breaks for my fellow NOAA/NWS family.

Your work mattered, you save lives…you matter! We have your backs, and sending love to all those impacted today ❤️

Oh that’s a neat feature. Thanks for sharing that!

Howdy👋 The vibe here definitely already feels better!
