David J. Knight's book, "Little Plays For Attention" is a perfect little look into the inner machinations of my friend David. A collection of poems, scenes, etc. told at various points throughout David's life and travels thus far is an enviable collection. It makes me wish I'd committed more things to paper (or screen) at various times in my life as well.

On a recent visit to Guelph, I was introduced to a self-declared Irish bard with a musical brogue who mentioned that he had sent a publisher not only his latest manuscript but also an audio recording of these poems. He insisted that this publisher hear his poetic voice. (At this point we shared our experience of first listening to the memorable early recording of William Butler Yeats reading “The Lake Isle of Innisfree,” with its power of incantation and wizardly cadences.) …
