Hi to all new followers(friends) a quick thread..

I mostly post my camera trap photos and videos though I do meteor photography/timelapse/3D photography too.

It's a pleasure to meet you all here on BlueSky. I'm new here so learning as I go along.

Thanks and no, it's not Raccoonosaurus. It does look larger due to sitting like you said. Raccoonosaurus has been around in the garden but hasn't been on camera much.

So true, it's important to remember they are wild animals and will act appropriately. As will all wildlife it's so important to coexist with them, respect them and generally leave them alone to live their best lives.

🤣
I find raccoons fascinating and enjoy watching them via the cameras without disturbing them.

Like most mammals, they've a complete set of canine teeth, incisors & cheek teeth that include premolar and molar teeth for a total of 40 teeth. Their canines are oval in shape, rather than round.
As omnivores their teeth structure fits a variety of foods.
Thanks for coming to my raccoon Ted talk.
The same raccoon, almost in the same position, from the first photo. It's looking towards the right of the frame with its mouth open. We get a good look at its lower canine teeth which look long and pointy. Shrubs and plants are to the side and behind the raccoon along with small landscaping rocks in the foreground. The raccoon looks fit and healthy and almost jovial in a way. It must be a hard life being a raccoon, this one seems to be doing a fine job of being an adult in my very, non-expert opinion. It's quite possible it's better at being an adult than I am :-)

Raccoons are one of the most common mammals seen in the USA that aren't domesticated. They're extremely smart, proven by several studies, to have the ability to solve puzzles and pick locks using their incredible memories. Their teeth are interesting too....
A night, black and white photo from my garden showing a raccoon sitting down facing the camera. It's holding its front paws together close to the ground. Its black face mask and nose are visible as are its little, roundish raccoon ears. Its mouth is slightly open giving a look at its teeth including its canine teeth. There are plants and shrubs to the side of the raccoon and behind it. There are small landscaping rocks on the ground.

Western Milksnake at Eldorado Canyon today 🌿
Orange, black and white banded snake under a rock. Compare to size of pine needles, it was small!

Thank you 😊 Sky Cam continues to do a great job for me.

Amazing! This made my day, great to see these animals help retain water in this year of drought!

🤯 Prepare to have your mind blown... What does six months of beaver productivity at Heal Somerset look like? Like nothing we could imagine or recognise!

Watch out for the stick from July onwards...🤪 iykyk 🦫

It has been chilly today, in the 50’sF. Soup would be good. Smart squirrel.

A first for the Raccoonobahn - a squirrel with a soup bone!!

Zoomed in on 1st clip to see it bringing the bone down the fence.

Rodders, the Rock squirrel, is still around! Hadn't seen it for a while so thought it had moved on.

Some rain overnight so the Raccoonobahn became the Earthworm Express.

Lots of worm activity as they all hurried around while the railroad ties were wet/damp.

I enjoy these worm trail videos but your mileage may vary, a lot. 😁

Still remains pretty quiet around here, we had the bluejays visit and look...no screaming! just splashing around.

She does seem to be giving you an extremely disappointed look. I’m sure after a few treats she’ll be happy again. 🤞

Oh! that's rough, hope the smell dissipates soon. Haven't seen 'our' skunk for a while now.

Very quiet all around over the last few days so it was nice to see this plucky little moth commuting on the Raccoonobahn.

Thank you!
I do enjoy making the cameras do what I want them to do.🤣👍

Not your typical trail camera photo, but something I'm enjoying experimenting with - long exposure leaf trails creating circles in the water bowl along with leaves falling in the background and perhaps a cheeky insect coming from behind the right side of the tree trunk.
A night long exposure trail camera photo showing part of my garden. There's a water bowl close to the camera, center bottom of frame. Around the water bowl are small landscaping rocks, beyond them are plants, flowers and shrubs dotted around and a tree trunk in the background. The wind was just enough to both have the tree drop some leaves and move the leaves around the water bowl in a circular pattern. The trails the leaves make are white as they reflect the camera IR.

A clear night so I was out with the camera doing circumpolar star trails. No meteors seen. 2 - 3 October 2025.
