It's actually really cool that many Arab and Asian countries use Eastern Arabic numerals for math up to this day.

I studied text segmentation, parse trees, semantic analysis and syntactic analysis back in elementary school in Portuguese class, and it immediately clicked when I started learning about compilers and programming languages.

This concrete section is all that remains on the site of my great-great-grandfather's house. The original wooden house that once stood here collapsed in 00s. My grandfather built this concrete extension in 85

I still remember the old wooden house, but unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of it.

I'm really happy to have gotten one of the few copies of Programação para Arquitectos (Programming for Architects) by Prof. Leitão. The book teaches programming with LISP/Racket applied to architecture, urbanism, computer graphics, and more. I absolutely love it.

LLMs are trained on lots of code, including some Haskell, OCaml, and Scala, but far less than Python, JS, or Java.

That gap shows up clearly in how LLMs handle FP code, even used in marketing for FP courses.

So yeah, you can use them just expect weaker support than for JS or Python.
