I'm a little surprised "racist posts" are still bad enough to get someone to resign, if I'm honest.

The ERO for Bill 212 was updated to reflect that it was passed and there is a summary of the comments received. Which were overwhelmingly against it and it ends with:

“The comments were considered and the bill was subsequently passed.”

Toronto really needs to start shutting down Yonge Street to through traffic when Line 1 is closed.

Making an effort to post about more than just bike lanes: it's concert time.

I think this is the first time I've seen official signage at Eglinton Station.

I've been meaning to read this book for a while, but I think it just shot up a lot higher on my to-read list.
It's been a long time since I bought an e-book as fast Josh O'Kane's, Sideways: The City Google Couldn't Buy. But when you have this pair of epigraphs, how could you not.

UNBELIEVABLE! Doug Ford and Prabmeet Sarkaria are so certain that people will be killed when #SafeStreets are ripped out that THEY ARE MAKING IT ILLEGAL TO SUE THEM for their role.

I wasn't originally going to come to this tonight because I wasn't sure I had the time, but these new amendments are insane. On my way down now.

An absolute banger from the Ontario Professional Planners Institute outlining how Bill 212 will make affect cities, including that it adds inefficiency, mucks with housing plans and isn't in line with the Planning Act (which was just updated). ontarioplanners.ca/inspiring-kn...

I saw a bunch of people on /r/toronto posting today about how "90%" of cyclists run red lights or roll through stops, and you rarely see drivers do the same. So, while out for a walk along Yonge between Sheppard and Finch, I counted. In 35 minutes I saw...

I like BlueSky, but I refuse to ever call it a "skeet." Unless that becomes very mainstream and lasts for years, in which case I'll quietly pretend I was doing that all along.

Definitely something worth noting. Your political beliefs don't make you immune to disinformation or conspiratorial thinking. I sometimes have to step back and ask myself how I "know" something, because I saw something online and took it at face value.
This is leftie QAnon, for those that are curious. This is how it starts. Hidden messages, secret codes. A behind the scenes intel officer reveals the plan to save America, save the world!

So I’m not going to share a screencap of the Conservative Party’s “woke bugs” petition, but I am troubled by the willingness of the CPC to go after (maybe even to destroy) a Canadian agricultural business purely to score political points. #CDNpoli

My new hobby: Muttering "damn you, bike lanes!" every time I'm in traffic on the 401, QEW, etc.

Funny, it's almost like the province doesn't want anyone to see what any of the actual transportation data looks like in Toronto.
Councillor Gord Perks asks about the Transportation Tomorrow survey, the best source of GTA mobility data. Why is the latest survey — conducted in 2022 — not public yet? Transportation GM says it's a provincial survey and the province has not published it yet, for reasons unclear

In summary, Ford's bike lane removals will, according to a new City Hall report:

- Cost $75 million in direct costs and sunk costs.
- Make traffic much, much worse for at least nine months during construction to remove lanes
- Have minimal long-term impact on car travel times.

I haven't used BlueSky at all since signing up, but having just followed a whole bunch of #TOBikes folks on here, I figured I'd share a couple pictures from today's amazing protest for bike lanes along Bloor.

I feel like I should actually start using BlueSky, instead of just having an account I don't touch. So, uh, here's a post, I guess.
