Historian, ethicist, at PSU for now, from Ottawa, almost retired from rugby, still a fan of the Giant Metrozoids. 🇺🇦
This sense of liking things and people and being able to have fun reminds me a bit of Mark Carney. Different in a lot of ways, but that part of their like-abilty is similar.

Lolich was great and deserves to be celebrated.

But Yoshi Yamamoto and Jack Morris would like a word.

I don't think they understand the way in which he's "offering to collaborate"

I wanna swap in Chakraborty's Empire of Gold for 2020, as City was well recognized elsewhere.

And yes Monk And Robot Combo was shoved in to 2025 as the novellas were wonderful but I wanted to promote other stuff for their years.

City We Became wasn't overlooked in prize season, but it fits the definition well.

Some of CBCs commenters, Ashley Burke comes to mind, really like to sell the shot-and-counter stories. It's clickbait engagement farming. That's not just CBC, of course, but they used to have less of it but it's rotting them now as well.

Recognizing that it's a rupture and not a transition demands fresh ideas and new practices, and that's potentially a bunch of work and some people don't want all the trouble of that.

Intrigued that it isn't framed very well; the action is almost off screen. Even if they didn't have a good gimbal set up, they could have pointed the camera at that side of the ring (assuming they knew they were staging that shot).

In Canada, CPAC is the Cable Public Affairs Channel (very similar to CSPAN), not at all affiliated with what CPAC is in the US.

But not staged for camera the way we expect today?

The chump and the "impact of the punch" is almost off screen for the KO punch. It's early film, but even for that time it isn't well-framed.

1906 is very late career for Dixon, right?

Scott, that business yesterday about Jamieson Greer pitching a customs union; was that just Greer spitballing? Has anyone else floated that? I had no idea it was being discussed (and can easily think of a few deal-breaking impracticalities)

We "as a nation" can't even agree that measles is bad, so it'll be a while before we do that with soccer, I think.

I get it about the living in the US thing, but that's too bad, I enjoyed watching him at the Paris Olympics.

they're currently scoring bonus points for being clearly grassroots and local, which I like.

Also yes to your point.

the beef would probably be "too intellectual." I like Raskin a lot, but Tommy Tuberville voters probably don't.

Show them this. Last week the Globe had Reid at positions 1-2-3-4-5-6 on their fiction list.
