Certain types of biochemical processes can impair the immune system’s ability to recognize and kill #cancer cells.

A team led by Andy Tao, professor of Purdue Biochemistry and member of the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research, developed a new way to study these processes.
Zheng Zhang, postdoctoral researcher in W. Andy Tao's Department of Biochemistry lab, loads a mass spectrometer as part of research to study cellular messengers and immune system. Zhang is first author of a new paper in the Journal of the American Chemical Society.

A huge step for two #Purdue cancer researchers that reflects years of dedication to advancing science, mentorship and improving lives!

We're proud to have such talented researchers in our community, and wish Jason Hanna & Brittany Allen-Petersen a wonderful fall semester in the meantime. 💛 #BAPlab

Also these beasts submitted their tenure package today!! Jason Hanna has been my ride or die since day one. I am so glad I got to establish my lab with him as a neighbor. In true academic fashion, in 9 months we will find out if we get to keep our jobs✨ #BAPlab @cancer-inst-purdue.bsky.social

Wishing your Millie a happy birthday!🥳

This 10-year-young Sheltie is Millie, too. Although this Millie has bladder cancer, she has new hope through a pioneering immunotherapy clinical trial launched by #Purdue & Akston Biosciences.

Health, happiness, and a wonderful 🦃-day to Millies everywhere.
Millie, a 10-year-old Shetland Sheepdog, is receiving treatment with the anti-cPD-L1 mAb at the Purdue University Veterinary Hospital. She is pictured with Dr. Deborah Knapp, lead veterinarian on the study.
