🌍 Abubakari II (1300s) – A Malian ruler who is believed to have led an expedition across the Atlantic nearly 200 years before Columbus, suggesting early African presence in the Americas.

🌍 James Beckwourth (1798–1866) – A formerly enslaved man who became a legendary mountain man, fur trapper, and frontiersman in the American West. He discovered Beckwourth Pass, a key route through the Sierra Nevada.

🌍 Jean Baptiste Point du Sable (1745–1818) – A Black fur trader and explorer credited with founding the city of Chicago.

🌍 Matthew Henson (1866–1955) – The first person to reach the North Pole in 1909 alongside Robert Peary. While Peary received recognition, Henson’s contributions were ignored for decades.
