I think it’s the story telling. I’m normally not a fan of mixed timeline/plot books, but Darcie Little Badger is absolutely phenomenal at balancing the two perspectives while keeping them interconnected

I was already planning on a reading marathon this weekend to get through some of my physical tbr, but now I’ll swap them for my Libby holds. Also I’m a REALLY fast reader and annotater 😅

I will say the actual data set is just as depressing as the statement, but it’s a lot more complicated than “reading below a 6th grade level” because literacy levels can very depending on content. I.e just because you can analyze an academic paper doesn’t mean you’ll understand social media posts
