As for spare range while overlanding 😅 not sure about that, I’d say keep your gas vehicle for that unless you have a generator with a 14-50 outlet to charge at or go to a nearby RV site and use your portable charger at one of their 14-50 outlets.

Actual buttons and knobs: we’ll get in line, people have been complaining and wanting this for the last decade in gas and EVs. There are models that fit what you want. Just have to look. Most manufacturers these days are putting everything in the screen. Been moving that way since 2014

Half of these are issues you can have in a gas powered car.
Most modern cars have electronic doors, when I had a 2017 Lincoln with a eco boost I actually did get stuck in there when the 12V died. All manufacturers think of this. There’s always a manual latch near the floor to release the latch.
