Ozark hillbilly on the spectrum looking for an outlet after getting permabanned on reddit. Don't bother trying to catfish. I'm married and the DMs are closed.
One of my biggest outstanding questions is what about the assholes? What about the sociopaths? What part do they play in the hive mind? Is that somehow tied to Carol's "tantrums" causing the seizures? Internal conflict from the darker contributors to the groupthink?

And using Helen's memories is a metaphor for how AI steals content and uses it without permission.

Finally she says something true

When I was a bike commuter 25 years ago in Chicago, before there were as many bike lanes as there are now, the cops and the buses were easily the most dangerous vehicles on the road.

Honestly, only 20,000 things is a conservative estimate.

I think the fix is in... Most of these mfs are shameless. This unanimous consent didn't exist two weeks ago. What changed? The files have been sanitized or a large portion will be withheld for national security reasons. Only way they feel safe enough to do this.

ACA was the reason I finally got diagnosed at 37 with the genetic disorder that I've known about since I was 13.

I don't know if I would call it alignment with the KSA on 9/11, but he certainly didn't seem to care

What did Donald Trump say on 9/11? September 11 transcripts, quotes
In the hours after the Twin Towers were hit by hijacked planes, Trump compared the size of his buildings to the fallen ones.

It took me until this last episode to really see this, but it's undeniable. The conversation with the DHL guy about the atom bomb struck me as how an LLM trained only to appease humans would respond. Incapable of doing harm itself, but willing to facilitate anything to avoid making us upset.

At first I thought it was about friendly zombies who make a compelling argument for joining the horde. But now I'm wondering if "us" is an allegory for AI and how even our creations with benevolent intentions can harm us when we lose control. Mass destruction in the name of harm reduction.

Do yourself a favor: go back and just read the last two lines.

I don't consider patchwork regulations to be compelling either. It's clear that the problem with the system is the system. I'm not advocating for giving up. I think the whole thing needs to go.

Sanford? This is pathological, right? Like... Come on.

Even if they do make the penalties severe enough to deter people from a specific grift, they'll just invent a new grift. This is a country that runs on loopholes and technicalities and trust me, these leeches are pros at finding them and calling them a new "financial instrument."

It will happen as long as there is an investment market. The regulations don't work because they just figure out a new way to drive the bus off a cliff.

Exactly. These oligarchs don't care if the market crashes because they'll just liquidate to cash before it happens (hastening the crash) and then buy the dip when it bottoms out. But I can't touch my 401k and have to watch it evaporate. The stock market was a mistake.
