Once again, why do people post on a public forum and then disable responses?

I'll try again. Why post in a public forum like this one or any other yet disable responses? Anyone? Not trying to be difficult, I'd just like to understand the rationale behind it.

Would someone please explain why people post or engage on a public forum, whether it's here or elsewhere, then disable replies?

In my head the Clash's "The Guns of Brixton" has ear wormed it's way inside with one edit. Instead of "The Guns of Brixton" I keep hearing "The Frogs of Portland"

The cancellations of Colbert and Kimmel by the administration are part of the way they're controlling dissent prior to the next election cycle, if there is one .....

I haven't seen one yet but has anyone added up the cost of tRump's vanity projects? His golf weekends, his parade, now the ballroom (curious as to how much his wealth will increase due to the "donations"). You know, since we can't afford school lunches, cancer research, etc.....

After the recent SCOTUS decision, people are crowing about the chance for more local jurisdictions being able to replace national injunctions. The issue I see is a further fractioning of our country, almost what a foreign (Russia/China) invader would want for us.

So it worked, no one's asking about the Epstein files any more.

I apologize if this is a repeat. I think Gov. Newsome is justified in his claim that the deployment of the National Guard and the Marines is overkill. What I DO see is he appears to have an issue with local law enforcement overreacting that may have been addressed internally, but not publicly.

And yet still no word on the Epstein files.

So I still go over to the cesspool that is twitter because every once in a while I find someone to actually chat with. Noticed that a few of the bot feeds have vanished and I'm wondering if I've been blocked. Is there a way to tell if someone has blocked me? I've been able to find lists I'm on.

It's been said that everything trump touches dies. Since his rise to the authoritarianism we've seen promising election results in Canada, Australia, Germany, and now the Vatican. One can only hope this trend goes full circle.
