At the end of the day they basically traded 3 points for +- 60m of field Scotland had to fight through

I think they made the right call, they just severly cocked up the lineout. If they played it right they either score or wind the clock down on the goal line & force scotland to turn it over and go 90m to score
They still would of had to receive kick off and defend a 6pt lead otherwise.
