Trump keeps saying the US does not need Canada. Okay. He should maybe check in with tourism. But still, I would like to see Canada diversify and build better relationships with other countries. We need leadership. We do not need “Trump Light” as my neighbour says.

I was disappointed to hear this is happening. All this “negotiating” is going to do is inflate Trump. It’s upsetting Trump and his acolytes run things like a cult. When will the Kool-aid be passed around?There was an opportunity here to stand up to a bully and find a positive way forward.

I used to be a travel agent pre-pandemic. My travel agent friends tell me that people are moving their US trips to other destinations because of Donald Trump. He is clear he thinks us Canadians are useless and dumb. But I feel horrible that good people are being hurt by his actions.

The situation is tough. The tariffs the US government has thrown on pretty much everyone outside of the US have put other countries in a position to find ways to adapt. I hope the artists don’t suffer too badly.
