back in high school for a few seconds and thinking about my grandmother and other disabled people who face these kinds of violations every day. I have more to say on the topic, but don’t want to overstep. All humans should be entitled to autonomy and their dignity.

in public places, and every time I see that kind of post, my blood boils. I’ve probably been thinking about this more recently since seeing Wicked and scenes where people are, theoretically, trying to help Nessarose (I hope the screenplay writers listened Marissa Bode’s perspective on those scenes).

I saw her chair as an extension of her, especially when she was sitting in it. To push her out of the way or move her in anyway without explicit consent would have felt disrespectful and dehumanizing.

I’ve seen people with mobility aids online complaining about people shoving them out of the way
