I don't get the strategy for #AmericanExpress. I applied and qualified for the #AmExPlatinum card 4 times, but each time they lowballed me on the bonus points w/ 80,000 instead of 175,000. I eventually gave up and applied for #ChaseSapphireReserve and got the max bonus points.

I've always thought of #Shazam as innovative but flawed, as it felt like you had to have perfect conditions for the app to detect a song. #Google has launched its own version, and it is so much better, plus you can even sing to it. Too bad for Shazam.

It's hard to support local journalism when the Wisconsin State Journal raised my subscription to a whopping $38.99/month WITHOUT notifying me. That's also way more than I pay for the New York Times.

Nice! I went to this bar last year and met the owner. Definitely worth a visit. "Hawaii #Packers bar travels over 4,000 miles to see a Lambeau Field gameday for the first time" www.wmtv15news.com/2025/09/11/h...

QR codes are meant to be scanned by smartphones. Thus, put them on printed materials like flyers, posters, etc. Do not put QR codes in emails, social media graphics, etc. (use clickable links instead). #marketing #QRcodes

It can't always be helped, but reporters and copy editors must try to avoid triple-negatives in stories. Examples: "effort to override ... vetoes appears to fail" and "lawmakers overturned the ... veto and enacted a law banning." So does the original law stand or not?

My firm manages the promos for the Madison St. Patrick's Day parade. I remember 5 years ago, in the days leading up it, we were deciding w/ the committee whether to continue the parade as-is, modify it or cancel it. Everything was fluid in the days before the stay-at-home orders.

The #hospitality landscape is changing fast. At the Wisconsin Food & Hospitality Expo on Wednesday, I'll be leading a panel to discuss marketing. Registration is still open--make sure to get your badge.

The louder someone's ringtone is, the more likely they are to 1) forget to silence their phone before a performance, presentation, etc. and 2) be unable to silence their phone when it rings at an inappropriate time.
