They are absurdly beautiful and well made. Magnificent. Sturdy perfect-bound A5 books with robust paper and vibrant art. The layout is of course amazing for actually using at the table. The Campaign Book is MASSIVE

I think it is - the core rules of play are pretty simple & characters are very fast to make. The fact that every area of the map has something cool in it takes a lot of the creative pressure off the GM as well.

The rules themselves are barely-altered 1981 Basic D&D. What makes it *magical* is the setting, a massive, enchanted fairytale forest with every nook & cranny stuffed with incredible encounters. It is exhaustingly and lovingly crafted down to the smallest details. And formatted to be SO easy to use.
