It also fits the Soviet/Russia vibes of the Klingons. Seeing a K't'inga shaped ship in use from ENT through DS9 is reminiscent of Russia still using the Soyuz capsule after half a century.

Older ships surviving The Burn because they were mothballed or in museums/etc kinda makes sense too.

This show is such a messy web of ships, I love it 👀

I do not like Darem either, but if he wants to hold me like that next time I have a panic attack, I would not mind. 😳

Streamers do like to brag about how many views their shows are getting, so rewatching over and over is not nothing, but I worry that by being loud and obvious about it, streamers will just start ignoring views as a meaningless metric. There's little incentive to chase views, there's no money in it.

For Starfleet Academy, that set was a big investment. A younger cast is more affordable, but big names like Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti are pricy. Shows only get more expensive (pay rises, etc) as they go, and repeat views don't offset that. Academy needs new eyeballs, not the same eyeballs.

That's (partly) why saving Prodigy didn't work. Kids don't sign up for streaming services, their parents do. Trek households were likely watching other Trek shows too, so Prodigy wasn't generating extra subscriptions. TV is art, but also a commodity: stuff won't get made if it doesn't make money.

On broadcast TV, viewership translates directly into money. The more times a show (and its ads) gets watched, the more money you get from advertisers. Not so on streaming: streamers only get money from you once a month, that money doesn't change if you watch something 100 times, or 0 times.

They also provided an explanation in dialogue: she's half-Klingon. Like Spock, she seems to have a lot of traits from her (Jem'Hadar) father, but gender can easily be an aspect of her Klingon DNA.

Even without things changing over time, no lore has been broken. There's no basis for any of this.

You should definitely jump in!

One of the great things about guitar is that a lot of songs (esp. country and classic rock) use a lot of the same simple chords (this is why mashups work so well). Get comfy with the chords to Wonderwall, and you'll be able to play a lot of other familiar stuff. 👀

I play guitar, and just bought myself a mandolin. I'd love to be good at the cello though, played a little violin in school but wish I'd done cello instead.

Being instantly good at the bagpipes would be great though, I feel like the learning stage would be painful. 😂

Valid, finding an excuse to talk about Kevin McKidd is definitely in character for me 😂

It's one of my favourites! Super under appreciated sound, has a weird ADHD soothing effect on me 😂
