I enjoyed this novel (and the show). If I wanted a romance book, I don’t think I would reach for this one since it was quite sad overall. I am glad there are more historical romances with Black FMCs though #booksky

Made it to ep 7 before it started to give me the ick a lot of boss/employee dramas do. The speech about him not giving up and asking her out again and again until she said yes was just a big 🚩 #kdramas

I REALLY enjoyed this! It’s the first DC comic I’ve read in a few years that truly felt like the Damian Wayne I loved years ago. There’s some excellent characterization & progression of his character. I liked the batfamily dynamics & discussion, too. The plot was fascinating.

My library is offering more manhwa everyday 😄 “Kill the Villainess” is a typical isekai story where the FMC ends up as the villainess from a novel. However, this FMC fights the hardest to return to her world. The others I’ve read usually have some reason they can’t or don’t wish to. #manhwa #booksky

“Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love! Vol 1” was 1 of few mangas I’ve read w/plus sized protags. I love how vibrant Kouda is, but it’s not progressive when the gags are 1) she’s confident in her appearance & 2) “she eats a lot”. I’m curious where this goes, tho. There’s a drama now. #manga #booksky

#mytroublesomestar ends pretty abruptly. Overall, I thought it was a cute drama! I liked the romance and the leads had great chemistry. It was some of Uhm Jung Hwa’s best acting. My first time seeing Song Seung Heon & he was perfect for the role! The music was great, too! I’d say 8/10 #kdramas

Shopaholic Louie seems to be a product of the times because I can’t find anything Louie has done cute. He’s mooching off of a poor girl and never seemed to think of doing real, meaningful things to help her and make money. I’m on ep 6 and it’s a tough watch #kdramas

My issue with “Love in Contract” is that the romance part of the “romantic comedy” isn’t very romantic to me. Painfully socially awkward guy and a woman who’s made a living off of being charming. I think PMY is great, I just don’t see any chemistry here. #kdramas

#MyTroublesomeStar is some of Uhm Jung Hwa’s best acting! The audition scene was killer! I hope the show finds some way to improve ISR/BCJ’s sister’s life. She sacrificed so much and I don’t really see a solid story for her yet. #kdramas

Super enjoyable and diverse YA graphic novel about a 16 year old teaming up with her hero to rescue kidnapped children. I think this was the 1st time I’ve seen a female character as the unkempt, disheveled role model. #booksky

Finished S.A. Cosby’s “Blacktop Wasteland” last night. Quite heavy at times but very well written and engaging. A lot of discussions of how multiple generations are impacted by the reckless actions of the first. Definitely a recommend if you can handle the themes. #booksky #blackbooksky

I’m on volume 4 now and stridently enjoying this series a lot. I never watched the anime, but I’ve heard a lot about it. The convos about gender expression are interesting and I love Haruhu as a character.

I tried watching Sorry Not Sorry because I love Jeon So Min, but I couldn’t finish it. The storyline with her friend’s hopeless marriage and the encouragement of them reconciling made me sick to my stomach. For a drama made in 2024, I was shocked. #kdramas

Finished this past week. This was a bummer at several points bc of what the subjects (human and animal) were put through in the “name of science”. Also sad how many times women’s feelings were disregarded. Aside from 1 questionable moment re:a surgical patient, it was an interesting read. #booksky

This started pretty strong!The first 6 episodes kept me engaged. It works best for me when it’s about Mo Seok Hui. There’s a point around episode 9 or so where it shifts to being more about her family & the lawyer and that wasn’t as interesting to me. #kdrama

Late to watching #lovelyrunner. I’m only on ep 4 and it’s quite frustrating with the typical miscommunication tropes 😭 But the acting is great and the leads have chemistry. I was more intrigued by the start showing a lack of accessibility for people with disabilities in SK #kdramas

#ironheart was one of the Disney+ marvel shows I actually really enjoyed! The acting, music, and story were great! I hope we see Riri a lot going forward. They set up such an interesting story.
