Right in my wheelhouse. There is a stark difference between day and night scenes. Daylight seems unrealistic and we only believe what we see and don't see in the dark.

Cannon Fodder hits hard, reminiscent of Orwell's 1984. In the future, the livelihood of most citizens depend on manning huge cannons fired at enemies that may or may not exist.

The anthology features strong direction with emotional and/or existential weight.

Stink Bomb is the lightest and most humorous of the three although it does feature some gore. A lab tech gains the superpower of being stinky. However, he has no control over it nor is he very intelligent. As he makes his way to Tokyo the government struggles to stop him.

My main complaint is Sanosuke, a brawler antagonist become ally, is played by a 30 year old. He's supposed to be around 19. Another issue would be it lacks the humor of the anime.

Favorite line:
"The more I think about it, the more I like Kaoru's naïve idea."

I only know the story from the anime. The anime had more time to flesh out the story, we are given quick introductions to the main characters. On the show, usually each character was featured in an episode. The Dick Tracy style villains essentially cameo
