Hello to all the new followers here! I'm Arwen (she/her) and I run the Cardboard Time podcast where I talk about Board Games and conduct interviews. (I'm also known by some for my shelf of aspiration). I thought I'd do a little starter pack for those unfamiliar with my work!

What I love about Phantasmic is how it’s a knockout AND a king of the hill game. The king is in both a seat of power and of vulnerability.

Tension is abundant, as you can find yourself as close to winning as you are to losing!

If anyone tells you that you can't become your authentic self and be truly happy, they're full of it.

The classic combover needs to be part of this.
Incidentally, one of the perks of transitioning was avoiding the need to worry about losing my hair 😂.

The line about needing to flip 7 is a joke that originated from an ai generated instruction set that was put on the Internet, not what the actual rules are. The first to 200 triggers endgame and whoever has the most points wins then.

My wife (@peppermintfox.bsky.social ) and I discussing the trash luck I have with Flip7. Also pictured is Chris Barrows of Tabletop Express, clearly not understanding that you HAVE to Flip7 to win, it's in the name of the game.

I personally feel like there's a lot of differences. Knitting Circle feels more open and forgiving with its drafting mechanism, which opens up the decision space. There's also rules included to adapt Calico to utilize the same draft.

Forgot to do this yesterday. Light month for me considering wedding prep, but very likely ramping up this month with my bachelorette party tomorrow and hanging out with all sorts of guests this weekend.
Also went back to some old favorites this month and glad I did. AMA!

Smoked chicken wings that were ridiculously crispy but tender inside...and the best part was that there was no fat added at all. I need a better picture, but instead of saucing these we kept them naked with a sweet dry rub. I was told that more would be requested in the future.
