Rae misses his house, his peace and quiet and solitude. Before the events of the game he had already been on the road for approx. 3 months to procure an item for one of Baldur's Gate's nobles, which was an arduous task. He's ready to just—sit down and not have anyone talk to him.

With Ares and Jaheira being lovers, I imagine its come up at least once, but the wizard would most likely refuse. Too self-absorbed for a calling like Harper, he claims, while Jaheira disagrees. He's nosy, butts into other's business, and while he pretends he doesnt care, he really does.

After their previous fight, Ares goes to her on the dock, determined to at least be with her at the end if he can't save her, but Wyll manages to convince her to go back to Avernus with him. Ares stays in touch through Hope mostly, keeping track of their movements for the worried wizard.
