Our final tally for calls to the comptroller’s office was 16. Then they put a lien on us after assuring us that wouldn’t happen. Took 6 more months and CPA involvement to get sorted. We actually were due a refund! Got it a couple weeks ago.

Omg, we *just* closed out our issue with MD for the same thing. We moved in 2022.

My MIL fell in the kitchen while home alone and was able to use it to call a neighbor to assist, which was a lifesaver as they were able to let the paramedics in. She now wears it daily, and we made sure she keeps that fall detection on from here on out.

I think what drives me nuts is I am not some sort of genius, everything was really obvious at the time, it required an active effort not to see what their goal was.
