British, likes: gym, literature, comedy, wine, engineering & science. Dislikes Brexit, Tories and their lickspittle, useful idiot supporters.
I don’t say this lightly, but I hope the first part happens soon and that there are enough people with the power and some balls to stop the second part.

Not sure why it’s an argument for not voting, it’s more a list of things they are doing or will be doing to suppress those likely to vote against them. I’ve heard that in some areas where there are long queues, it’s forbidden to give people water, do you know if this is true?

I hope the author of the article is wrong and it doesn’t come to that.

All decent thinking people are appalled at what is happening in Minnesota at the moment. I wasn’t aware of the Fulton County issue.

I’m sure you’re right, unfortunately the next presidential election will probably go the same way. The people behind Trump will be working towards consolidating the power they have.

Another example of the Tories salting the earth.

Far fewer people in the UK are likely to accept the Trump administration narrative than in the U.S. Farage is making a mistake going along with this.

Lickspittle, nobody likes you, you should know that from school.

His first thought though wasn’t “oh no, this is terrible I must put a stop to it”, it was “hmm, I can charge people money to generate sexualised images of children.” The guy is an absolute weasel.

I know what you mean Mike but after the previous government, I'm more than happy with boring competence.

I don’t like the stance of our government and how our prime minister kowtows to this ridiculous yet dangerous man. Unfortunately we’re tied to the US for our nuclear deterrent, I don’t think Trump would hesitate to deny access if Starmer spoke out against him.

Whether the U.S. can control our use of nuclear weapons has always been denied by successive governments. We lease the missiles from them but make our own warheads. Ultimately, they could stop us from accessing the missiles next time we change the submarines over.
January 4, 2026 at 3:10 PM
Agreed, like it or not we’re dependent on the US for our nuclear deterrent. Publicly rebuking Trump isn’t an option for our government.

Thanks for this, I’ll use it next time I’m arguing with my Reform voting colleagues.

Not that it’s pertinent at the moment but I think Chamberlain gets a bad rep. Other than that, I think you’re spot on.
