The story, as an early JRPG, thrives in its simplicity—but also is compelling enough to keep you searching for more hints hidden across the map.
And, well, people talk about how grindy the game is, but I wasn’t bothered. I’m used to battles via random encounters!
Plus, it’s just gorgeous on GBC.

The story, as an early JRPG, thrives in its simplicity—but also is compelling enough to keep you searching for more hints hidden across the map.
And, well, people talk about how grindy the game is, but I wasn’t bothered. I’m used to battles via random encounters!

I just hit the credits on Dragon Quest for the Game Boy Color.
Despite being an old game, it holds up as a super fun adventure. Old does not mean obsolete.
I played the first half earlier this year with my nephew, and the cool thing about it is how quickly he could just pick up the game and play.

All day I’ve had students, kids, and parents talking to me about my Ash Ketchum costume.
They tell me about their favorite Pokémon, ask me about mine.
One kid even remembered me from last year when I passed out the Pokémon cards!
God, I love Halloween.
