It’s all about them all the time. “You” are always wrong, it’s always “your” fault, and “you” are always lying or cheating or screwing up and no matter what goes wrong (it could be a tree falling on the house) it’s always “your” fault. Always. And “you” are a mess, a nightmare. Always.

I was married to a narcissist as well, 11+ years. Then she discarded me. Yeah, I was a mess and couldn’t even pull it together to get out on my own. Financially I never recovered. Mentally I did better but it took time and I still have “triggers”.
