I grew up in Stillwater, the Birthplace of Minnesota. I've lived most of my life in Bemidji, the First City on the Mississippi. Are these not the most iconic Minnesota towns? Am I not the most Minnesotan? I ask you. You cannot out-Minnesota me, and I declare, "Minnesota Nice" is an offensive phrase.

I'm site director at a homeless shelter in Bemidji. We are overwhelmed this year. Our overnight shelter is already seeing 30+ people per night with 24 beds. It's going to get worse as the weather gets colder. My staff is already getting burned out and it's only November. namelesscoalition.org

Looks like my neighborhood (Old Town) is the last to get service in Bemidji. Coincidentally, we're also maybe the least wealthy neighborhood.
