Absolutely here for people genuinely sharing wonderful things they are doing but it’s the lack of balance with any sort of reality. It’s like we are watching a curated version of the world that doesn’t actually exist, y’know?

My IG is basically;

- Follow this fitness regime & you too can look like me (small print: the influencer is actually on weight loss meds)
- Over consume like me and you too can feel like your house is in order.
- Look at my fabulous life/holiday (not just people sharing fun snaps)

It stinks

Kinda given up on IG because I’m bored of being marketed to feeling like no-one is an authentic human. The facade of social media isn’t new of course but in recent years it seems to be at the point that nearly everyone is faking a life online. I miss 2008 real Twitter convos.
