We just evaluate Kessler differently. Kessler optimized in the same way we optimize Kornet can give you 80-85% to peak Rob is my argument. You’re adding a starter future high-level one for an end of bench guy.

There is no Al replacement out there with JB & JT on the team. Kessler could play with Al or KP or as a single big. He profiles similar to Rob in that way.

You might be right about that but FO has to show some foresight to address the front court. We have some serviceable bandaids in place with Luke/X & Queta.

Trading an asset on a rookie contract guy who is a proven starter is a worthy risk imo.

We might not be able to get him. He’s the type of talent who might be available that we should be aggressively pursuing. Similar to the TWolves/Dillingham move.

We don’t have the assets for a shooting big. He has the vertical spacing that we miss without Rob. He’s much better than Kornet (defensive talent compares to Chet by some metrics). I would give up the 2031 pick for him.

Walker Kessler, starting level big on a rookie contract. He’s good enough offensively & versatile enough defensively to play double big with KP or Al. Part of your future when Al retires or KP is hurt again.

Everybody uses the same trainers now…

That’s the thing, the Celtics defense has been rock solid for years. They are used to winning ugly on that side of the ball.
