Yes this is definitely a favorite liberal myth—that every movement that promoted positive social change in the US “loved” this country and wanted to preserve its foundational capitalist order. It requires one to ignore virtually all of labor, civil rights, indigenous and immigrant rights history
"Every successful political movement of the past century did not give up on the political system" i cannot imagine the number of asterisks you would need to add to this sentence to make it even close to true
