RECOGNIZE NOW! More than a month since we went public, Carnegie management has continued to drag their feet, and we still have no answer about whether they will do the right thing and voluntarily recognize us. @carnegieendowment.org @nonprofitunion.bsky.social @ifpte.bsky.social

Yesterday, CEWA and Brookings United joined forces for pizza, pups, and solidarity. As we gear up for an election in two short weeks, we’re grateful for support and solidarity from our @ifpte.bsky.social siblings who share their union wins and remind us of all that we can achieve!

2/2 and working towards making our workplace even better than it already is should always be the goal.

Member testimonial! ✨️ I'm choosing to unionize because of how nice life has been at Carnegie so far for me as a newer employee. Unions are all about making sure that the benefits and culture that you enjoy and motivate you to come to work every day are a guarantee 1/2

It's better in a union! 📣 Organizations like Carnegie have won great changes through collective bargaining. For inspiration, read improvements to layoff and recall policies that our sister unions have won.

As our union becomes more rooted in our workplace, it's natural that it comes up in conversation. We've heard a few misunderstandings floating around, so we're breaking things down in a myth vs fact format. @ifpte.bsky.social @carnegieendowment.org @npeu.bsky.social

CEWA members are sharing why they’re standing together in a union. “I’m choosing to unionise because unions make workplaces safer and more egalitarian spaces for all employees. And we should all want spaces where we spend one-third of our lives in to be safer for all.”

We call on @carnegieendowment.org to voluntarily recognize our union, to accept an inclusive bargaining unit, and to uphold neutrality throughout the process.

CEWA’s first Labor Day! As we fight for the recognition of our inclusive union, we are grateful for support and solidarity with our fellow workers at the Metropolitan Washington Council AFL-CIO as well as @nonprofitunion.bsky.social @ifpte.bsky.social

This Labor Day weekend, CEWA organizing members joined @nonprofitunion.bsky.social @ifpte.bsky.social and more to show solidarity with working people everywhere. Amid our ongoing push for recognition, we are reminded: Together, we bargain. Divided, we beg.

CEWA members are sharing why they’re standing together in a union. “I’m unionizing because I am proud of the work that my colleagues and I produce, and  I believe we deserve a workplace that recognizes our time and dedication with fair wages and opportunities for growth.”

CEWA members are sharing why they’re standing together in a union. "I support unions because they give workers a collective voice and ensure fairness in the workplace. They fight for better pay, safer conditions, and benefits that improve lives." 1/2

As someone just getting started here, I care about building a workplace where we can all be open, feel respected, and have real transparency around pay and promotions. I want to know that as I grow in this job, I’m doing so in a fair and supportive environment, and that’s why I’m unionizing.

Our union members in research programs work alongside scholars to dig deep, analyze the details, and turn complex ideas into incisive, timely publications like Preventing Backsliding in New Democracies. CEWA members help bring the CEIP mission to life.

Preventing Backsliding in New Democracies
As the United States retreats from its role as a global democracy promoter, there is simultaneously a leadership gulf and a shift in the norms around democracy and autocracy.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS Management cannot prohibit us from talking about the union during working time if it permits us to talk about other non-work-related matters during working time. If you can talk about the Nats game, you can talk about CEWA.
