I served in a winter night shelter for the homeless. One guy had a job and spent his days making beds in a luxury hotel. He then came to us and slept on a camp bed in our church hall because he couldn't afford a bed of his own.

Well, I came out of evangelicalism after many years for a variety of reasons related to power and control. I wouldn't say it's all bad. It has a lot to commend it. But, being human, we all take what God has given us and twist it for our own purposes to some extent. This happens in every church.

It is so in much of the UK too. Is this your measure of devotion, worshipping on other days of the week and not just Sundays? I suspect there is still more to unpack

Who are you saying is "half devoted"? Jesus said among many other things, "I will build my church", "Proclaim the Kingdom of God", and "Go and make disciples". I'm not sure if you're disagreeing with me or language is getting in the way. Perhaps you could throw some light on my confusion
