The Esquimalt Urban Art tour is back and you know what that means? Time to whip up some affordable, original art options - I know what it’s like to be on a budget ❤️
I’ll be with the lovely @artbyjulieproulx at 915 Dunsmuir Road. The garden is spectacular!

More fun with cloudscapes. Good gravy, we get some fantastic sunrises in my neighbourhood ❤️

Trying something a bit different today. Attempting to blur the line between object and background. Generally pleased but more experimenting is needed 😊

Exciting news! The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria selected these 4 works to be in their annual summer Small Works Show!

“Every which way”. Exploring the exciting world of striped fabric! It is both fun and challenging to paint, especially alla prima (wet on wet)

It’s been a while since I worked on a painting that needed so many different brushes!

I swear I’ve been doing stuff! I just haven’t been posting about it. Stripes are hard alla prima so I’m trying a different approach. And Monday morning was spent doing a wee demo at the @vicfca spring show at @artseacommunityartscouncil gallery 🎨🖌️🖼️

Practice day. 2 x 15 min warm ups and a 30 min seascape. Sometimes I just need to play around with some paint, with no expectations.

Sat on this for a couple of weeks - which is like an eternity in me time! Ended up making a few tweaks and now I’m happy with it. I think my cats would agree that it looks like a very comfy blanket ❤️

My birthday is too soon after Xmas for me to want birthday dessert. So we celebrated this weekend - my love made me this pie from scratch ❤️

I’ve been falling behind on my posts. Unsurprisingly… one day I plan to be organized but that day is not today.
Another wee sunset, 5x7.

Some wee quick landscape painting was it for today. Sometimes I’m just too pooped to put in a lot of effort on a big one!

Small version in what I hope to paint much larger in a couple of weeks. I don’t normally do two versions of the same image, but I had a couple of things I wanted to work out in advance of the big one, and I’m glad I did 😁

Mellow yellow - this was fun to paint. After the challenge of a multiday painting, I like to do something quick and straightforward to remind myself that it’s not always that hard! This one was painted in one sitting, about 2 hours.

One fish, two fish, I didn’t paint blue fish. One day I’ll make this fabric onto pillows for my patio furniture, but in the meantime it became the subject of a very challenging painting. #art #stilllife
