There’s a problem just now between the need for tourism in the highlands and the lack of infrastructure to support it it. Lack of stopping places for camper vans and toilets for instance leading to some people leaving in glitter and human waste wherever they camp for the night.

I think a bigger divide is perhaps between urban and rural dwellers. Some people from large urban areas don’t have the same respect for the land as rural dwellers.

Not really different. Lowland Scots have more in common than say, Scot’s and English people. I’m a low lander myself and have Highlanders as friends. .

I just spent a night in extrememe pain because I ran out of cocodamol and the pharmacy hadn’t processed my script for newly prescribed codeine. That first tablet of codeine was amazing after 24 hours of bad pain. I don’t intend to overuse it as i dont want to build up a resistance. I have myeloma.

Yes it does have Canadian bacon and maple syrup should you be so inclined. Alas, no haggis. A friendly neighbour bought me some ‘traditional’ Scottish haggis on Burns night last year. It had the look and texture of some terrible pâté in round slimy slices. Reader, it was not haggis.

Canadians have weekend brunch. Eggs bacon fried potatoes, toast, pancakes. Although my preference is for eggs Benedict which is usually also on the brunch menu.
