Why don't we know the names of the "civil servants" posting this garbage?

I read "not giving money " here as both "not showing support for" & "not enabling" which implies more purpose. My interpretation. IMO the likely use cases - withholding money from bad celebrities as a statement and from bad ordinary folks as influence - weigh toward it being an ok universal.

Surely those people are the ones most likely to change their behavior upon facing material consequences, though. Boycotting a rich celebrity is theater in comparison; it makes no impact.

I think you're saying that you don't believe the principle represented in this rule is worth the consequences?

How does not giving money to abusers cause people to die? Which abusers do you mean? Not buying Chomsky's books doesn't lead to anybody dying.

Moral rules are weighed in implementation, no? An ethical rule can always become unethical in its application when circumstances intervene.

However, anybody on the left who paid attention to Chomsky and Foucault's debates would have been (and was) able to see this coming. Somehow an outsize chunk of the American left somehow decided Chomsky was good. US lefties are in a populist cult and not actually doing the intellectual work.

Yes, that's awesome solidarity with women and girls. Good job putting that fascist mask on real tight; we are impressed with you!

Do what? Criticize Chomsky for being a jackass?

Yep, that is why I don't like Hasan Piker either.

No imperialism suddenly doesn't become based because someone other than the U.S . or The West does it ,it is still in fact 110% F**ked.

Education is not the humanities. It's a field work and applied discipline; it's a social science.

This right here, 100%. US journalists do not know remotely enough about what's going on in the world to do the bare minimum of an actual *journalist's* job - they are broadcasters who read teleprompters.

I keep going over to X because of the little's kpop people and IT IS SO BAD I am shocked every single time.

100%. I'm actually legit confused that people disagree with this observation. Who do they think she's talking to?
December 8, 2025 at 3:35 AM
In all seriousness, my vibes tell me you are 100% correct. Of course that's who she's speaking to; she sounds like she's talking to normie moms. So like, what vibes are the people who think you're wrong picking up on?!?

Sometimes I'll comment online that evaluating and making argument is the central literacy skill of the 21st century and even really educated people will tell me that is naive and nobody can be expected to do it, that we have to teach them "who to trust." But we know that is just ripe for abuse.
December 8, 2025 at 3:03 AM
Honestly you have to make teaching that the POINT of education from probably middle school on. Public schools aren't remotely doing that, nor are the training-oriented programs many students take post-secondary. This is an issue about our *values* and motive for education at all.

It's Netflix though - KPDH is their most streamed movie ever! It just won NY Film Critics Circle Best Animated Feature! It's a musical; it's a kids movie. It's unique!

IMO it's not that kpop: EJAE failed at being a kpop idol because she sounds too American; she has a really deep gravely voice.

the film, thinking she'd just hide behind the animation, & then it literally became the biggest song in the world & she had to get out & do press & perform it & it was visibly emotionally overwhelming for her. It would take 20000 words to tell you everything LOL.

And it's this marvelous authenticity story: the songwriter's personal narrative is just incredibly dramatic. She trained from the age of 11 to become a kpop idol and *failed*, became a kpop songwriter instead, and after working on the songs for this movie for 5 years was asked to record them for
