Visited the Andalucia yesterday..a replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon..at Victoria dock in Caernarfon. My Dad would have loved it.Such a beautiful contrast to the concrete ultra-modern buildings there.A real "wow" moment.

My favourite fleeting beauty this month.. the first flowering of the stunning Himalayan blue poppy my daughter gave me for my birthday. I'm hoping it's not just a one season wonder. (Meconopsis Lingholm)

Started Christmas wrapping at last..two copies of Maggie O'Farrell's wonderful book for my daughters.Last year I got them copies of Maggie's Hamnet.I hope they will enjoy these as much.I sometimes wonder if she ever met Hilary Mantel.I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that conversation!

Staying indoors and writing Christmas cards and letters. Grateful that we've only had a little damage here..greenhouse glass unfortunately. Trees are down all over the island.
I made 40 of these.. some for my daughter to use. Hope everyone is staying warm and safe in #stormDarragh

Just finished watching Joy , The Birth Of IVF, out today on Netflix. Highly recommended. I can just about remember Louise Brown being born so it was fascinating to see how the first IVF birth came about. A very human story. Plus..Bill Nighy & James Norton! Thomasin McKenzie so good too.

Another summery flashback .The sunflower on the right looks like a face and reminds me of "Weed" in Bill And Ben.

The ivy is taking over but the flowers are sculptural and the insects love it.

Yep, I think it's wintry enough now to justify getting these out again for the season.

Come back summer!
Lucky, Gertrude Jekyll, Olivia Rose Austin & Princess Anne all did well this year, despite the rain.

Quite pleased to see all episodes of The Mirror And The Light aren't yet on iPlayer. It stopped me binge-watching.It needs to be watched slowly and appreciated..the lighting, the costumes, the wonderful Mark Rylance's quiet understated brilliance.Just wish Hilary Mantel was still here to enjoy it.

How November is going.. my Pavlovian response to autumn chills is to get the knitting needles out..several obligatory visits to the Oriel Mon Christmas crafts market.. potting up rosemary for gifts and a bit of card-making.
