That's a myth. Storage technology is expanding so fast that the grid will be stable using renewables before the SMNRs are built, and at a fraction of the price.

The percentage change hides a more optimistic story in the emissions.
Yes, transport emissions are up but only by 0.3Mt.
Thats small compared to the drop in overall emissions, down by 9.9Mt.
The big emitters are electricity and stationary energy, together down 6.9Mt.
Yay!
