Nyx: goddess of the night & Queen of the laundry pile

a rogue leaf caused quite the distraction during dinner

yesterday I added a snuffle mat to the puppy pen so the babies could explore a new texture. Of course wild gal Nyx was all in! Before long all four puppies were digging around in it, even cautious boy Eclipse.

the pups have been getting exposed to floor textures. Hard floors feel slippery & scary at first! Nyx (black & white) is confident & had no issues, Eclipse (grey) is cautious by nature so he’s not convinced. Tarot & Hex are hesitant but after watching their sister & their mom they follow suit!

Foscoe clocked in for his Mr. Mom duties. He got a variety of reactions which is in line with how these puppies embrace new experiences. He’s so good with little puppies and a great role model for them as they continue to grow and learn important social skills.

Baby box graduates 🧑‍🎓
The hallowed hounds moved on up into a puppy pen today! They’re happy with more space, TWO cozy beds, and lots of toys. They’re handling their new responsibility well so far! Mama Salem has the ability to jump in and out to check on them as needed.

It’s the last night in the baby box for the hallowed hounds! I put a pee pad in there to get them used to the feeling and sound. They’re ready for more space!

mama Salem’s original foster mom + her two sisters came by this evening to visit the hallowed hounds! Nyx was very interactive and engaged per usual but it was great to see Hex really engaging as well.

Everything fell so perfectly into place, like the camp carter community was working together to find this girl the perfect home.

at today’s adoption they greeted her with belly scratches, a new collar, & a cozy sweater. They also ordered a heated blanket since she’s always snuggling on mine!

This special girl could not believe it was really her time for a second chance. I’ll share more info about her new family and how this perfect fit came about later but I wanted to confirm that Newt has left the building 🩷

the babies are about ready to graduate from the baby box, but for now they get some play time outside it a few times a day to experience a different location, different textures, new toys, and give Salem some more room to move around with them.

since just yesterday I can tell a change in their activity levels and mobility! They’re all a bit delayed for their age, which is normal for small breed puppies, except for Nyx (the black and white pup). Today everyone is a lot more responsive and engaged! The waggy tails are just killing me 🥹
